Harley Pomper is currently a PhD student at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, focusing on research interests such as incarceration, care, disability, and dissent. As a Community Leader at Southsiders Organized for Unity and Liberation, Harley Pomper organizes efforts to address conditions in Cook County Jail. Experience also includes facilitating writing workshops at Cook County Jail as the Programming Lead for Bridge Writing Workshop and directing academic operations for the Education for All Coalition, which develops curricula for refugee youth in partnership with UNHCR. Previous roles include research assistance related to child welfare and social policy, curriculum writing for early childhood development, and advocacy within the Montgomery County Public Schools' Restorative Justice Unit. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Human Development and ongoing master's studies in Social Work and Social Sciences.
