Brian Johnson

President & Head of School at SOUTHWEST CHRISTIAN SCHOOL INC

Brian Johnson has been the President and Head of School at SOUTHWEST CHRISTIAN SCHOOL INC since June 2012. Prior to that, they were the Headmaster at Alexander Dawson School from July 2006 to June 2012. Brian led a K-12 school of approximately 460 students and 100 members of the faculty and staff. Brian was responsible for recruiting and developing a talented and increasingly diverse faculty, expanding the school’s commitment to diversity, managing the school’s resources effectively, fostering a culture of innovation, and energizing development efforts. Brian also worked with neighbors and county officials to ease barriers to school growth and sponsored several initiatives to enhance Dawson’s engagement with the community. Under Brian’s leadership, the school achieved the first expansion of Dawson’s enrollment cap in over a decade and set several fundraising records.

Brian Johnson's educational career includes obtaining a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, a M. Ed. in Administration and Social Policy from Harvard University, and a B.A. in Pubilic Policy from Stanford University. Brian has also participated in the Educational Leadership Institute at The Johns Hopkins University and the Klingenstein Program for Visiting Heads of School at Teachers College, Columbia University. Brian's schooling also includes The Taft School and Fessenden School.
