Southwest Conservation Corps
Jacob Mandell has extensive experience in youth programming and outdoor education, currently serving as Youth Programs Manager at the Southwest Conservation Corps since February 2021. Previously, Jacob held the role of Youth Programs Coordinator, supporting conservation initiatives in the Four Corners region. Additional experience includes positions as a Special Education Assistant at Bend-La Pine Schools and a Special Education Specialist for the City of Bend, focusing on inclusion for children with disabilities. Jacob's background also includes working with the Washington Trails Association as a Trail Crew Leader and Youth Program Assistant, teaching skiing and snowboarding to individuals with disabilities at Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports, and participating in trail crews with the U.S. Forest Service. Early career roles involved assisting at the Wilderness Information Center with the National Park Service and interning as a Wilderness Ranger with the Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation. Jacob holds a Bachelor's degree in Outdoor Education and Education and Social Justice from Western Washington University.

SCC works to foster inclusive opportunities and collaborative partnerships for positive growth through development of knowledge, leadership, and compassion towards our lands and communities. Our offices are out of Durango, CO and Salida, CO. Southwest Conservation Corps is a program of Conservation Legacy.
