Peter Kind

Director at SouthWest Water Company

Prior to founding the advisory firm eiAdvocates LLC in 2012, Peter worked for over 30 years in investment banking, with a specialization in utility and power sector finance. Peter’s investment banking career focused on capital raising and strategic advisory services, including merger and acquisition. Peter’s investment banking experience, includes experience at Macquarie Group, Bank of America, where he lead the Power and Utilities Corporate and Investment Banking effort, Citigroup and Kidder Peabody, where he co-directed the Power & Utilities industry teams of each of those firms. Prior to investment banking, Peter worked for Arthur Andersen & Co.

Peter has written several papers on the challenges and opportunities facing the energy and power sector. In 2013, Peter authored a paper for the Edison Electric Institute titled “Disruptive Challenges.” In 2015, Peter continued evolving his thesis with a paper titled “Pathway to a 21st Century Utility Model” for Ceres. In 2016, Peter collaborated with CLEAResult on a paper outlining the need for adequate utility incentives titled “Lower Spending, Higher Returns”.

Peter serves as an independent member of the Boards overseeing Enable Midstream Partners LP (Audit Committee Chair), NextEra Energy Partners LP (Special Committee Chair) and Southwest Water Company (Audit Committee Chair).

Peter holds an MBA in Finance from New York University and BBA in Accounting from Iona College. Peter practiced as a Certified Public Accountant until 1981. During 2008 to 2011, Peter was Co-Chairman of EEI’s Wall Street Advisory Group.
