Angela Alvarez Riggs currently holds the position of Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Human Resources at Southwestern Community College District since January 2020, previously serving as Director and Assistant Director of Human Resources. Angela's extensive experience in human resources includes roles at San Diego State University from October 2013 to January 2020, where responsibilities included managing classification and compensation programs and providing HR consultation. Prior to that, Angela worked at UC San Diego Health System as a Principal Classification/Compensation Analyst from June 2006 to October 2013, offering classification and compensation analysis in compliance with collective bargaining agreements. Angela obtained a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from National University in 2022 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in International/Global Studies from the same institution, completed in 2008.
