David Smith, MBA, CHE, has a comprehensive background in public health and education, serving as a Program Director and previously as Manager of Health Promotion at Southwestern Public Health since August 2010. Smith's prior experience includes a role as Clinical Instructor/Professor at Fanshawe College from January 2005 to June 2014. Academically, Smith holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Ivey Business School at Western University and a Bachelor of Dental Sciences from The University of British Columbia.

Southwestern Public Health works together with its partners to ensure the health of the whole community. Formed in 2018 by the merger of Elgin St. Thomas Public Health and Oxford County Public Health, Southwestern Public Health serves a population of about 200,000 across Oxford County, Elgin County and the City of St. Thomas.
