David A. Ortiz

David A. Ortiz, Ph.D., is an accomplished higher education administrator with extensive experience in student success, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Currently serving as the Vice President for Student Success and Belonging at Southwestern University since September 2024, Ortiz previously held the position of Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Texas Lutheran University. Ortiz's career includes significant roles at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities as Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, as well as numerous academic positions across various universities. Ortiz's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University Bloomington, a Master of Science in Student Affairs Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, both from Texas A&M University.
