Naomi Reed

Naomi Reed is an accomplished academic and producer currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Southwestern University since August 2019. In addition to multiple roles within the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Reed is the Senior Producer and Co-host of the Sugar Land podcast since June 2021. Prior experience includes a Visiting Assistant Professorship at Wake Forest University and a Lecturer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of Texas at Austin, where courses focused on race, ethnicity, and public policy were developed and taught. Additional postdoctoral work was completed at the University of California, Los Angeles. Naomi Reed holds a PhD in Anthropology, an MA in Computational and Applied Mathematics, an MA in Social Sciences, and a BS in Mathematics, reflecting a diverse educational background.
