Allen Torng

Allen Torng is a seasoned professional in intellectual property law, currently serving as Associate Counsel at Ecto since July 2019. Previously, Torng held positions as a Patent Attorney at Davidson Sheehan LLP and Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner, focusing on procurement and litigation support in advanced technology sectors such as machine learning, extended reality, optics, and semiconductors. Torng started a career at Hulsey IP, where responsibilities included drafting and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, alongside providing strategic counsel in licensing and due diligence. Early experience includes a role as a Life Sciences Licensing Associate at the UT Austin Office of Technology Commercialization, where evaluations of technology market potential were conducted. Torng began an academic journey with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, followed by a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law.
