Emory Barber

Emory Barber has extensive experience in the engineering and manufacturing sectors, currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at Southwire Company since December 1990. Responsibilities include overseeing project engineering, execution, and management within the Engineering and Modernization team. Additionally, Emory holds the position of Vice President, Energy Technical, leading application engineering and technical support for insulated utility wire and cable, bare transmission cable, and smart grid products. Emory's prior roles at Southwire include Director of Cable & Systems Engineering and various plant management positions. Before joining Southwire, Emory worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers Company and as an Engineering Co-op at Lockheed Martin. Educational qualifications include a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology and studies at multiple institutions, including Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
