Van Holt has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. They began their career in 1985 as a staff nurse in hemodialysis at DANVILLE UROLOGIC CLINIC, INC and eventually became the manager responsible for three hemodialysis clinics. They also worked as the coordinator for a Lovastatin study and a diabetes clinic. From 1991 to 1997, Van Holt served as the Second Level Lead Instructor at Rockingham Community College. They then worked at Danville Regional Medical Center as the LPN to RN Program Coordinator from 1999 to 2006. Following that, they joined Nash Health Care as the Director of Education, a role they held from 2006 to 2020. They subsequently worked at Sovah-Danville as an Education Specialist from 2021 to 2023 before transitioning to become the Director of Education at Sovah-Martinsville from March 2023 to October 2023. Currently, Van Holt serves as the Market Director of Education at Sovah Health.
Van Holt has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the Medical College of Virginia. Van also holds a Bachelor's degree from Randolph Macon Woman's College. Van Holt further pursued their education and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on Nursing Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Van has additional certifications, including Nurse Executive-Board Certified (NE-BC) and Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC), both from the ANCC.
