Rick Vidal

Rick Vidal has extensive experience in the energy sector, having held various significant roles across multiple organizations. Starting as a Consultant at Sandia National Laboratories from March 1993 to February 1995, Rick transitioned to Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) as a Research Associate in North American Power, followed by an Associate position in the Global Power Group until September 2000. Rick then served as Associate Director for the Global Power Forum at IHS CERA until October 2007, before becoming the Director of the Global Energy Forum at IHS, Inc. from November 2007 to August 2010. Returning to IHS Markit, Rick advanced through the ranks to Senior Director for the Global Energy Scenarios Service from March 2018 to September 2023. Currently, Rick holds the position of Senior Director of Outlooks and Scenarios at S&P Global, starting in February 2022. Rick Vidal earned a Master’s degree in International Relations from Tufts University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Boston University.
