STEM Education Instructor at Space Center Houston

Laurie Newman is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching and academic administration. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at San Jacinto College and a STEM Education Instructor at Space Center Houston since September 2017, Laurie Newman specializes in developmental reading and writing courses and facilitates educational activities that promote teamwork and problem-solving skills. Previously, Laurie Newman held roles such as Dean of Academics, Education Events Coordinator, and Teacher at Family Christian Academy, where responsibilities included administrative tasks and stakeholder relations. Additional experience includes serving as Nursery Director at Sterling Wood Church and a Fifth Grade Teacher at Galena Park ISD. Laurie Newman's educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Houston Christian University, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and an Associate of Arts in English from Lee College.
