Arthur Scharf

Arthur Scharf has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry. Arthur is currently working as the Head of Products at Space DOTS®, starting in March 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an ADCS Engineer at Kongsberg NanoAvionics from February 2022 to March 2023.

Arthur's previous experience includes working at Airbus Defence and Space, where they held multiple roles. Arthur started as a Graduate GNC Engineer in September 2017 and transitioned to the role of AOCS & GNC Analyst in October 2019. In their position as the Technical Lead, they were responsible for applying deep learning for on-board failure detection and isolation. Arthur also worked on various Mission Analysis/Flight Dynamics and Attitude & Orbit Control studies and contributed to Simulator Environment development. Their tenure at Airbus Defence and Space ended in February 2022.

Before joining Airbus Defence and Space, Arthur completed their Master Thesis at Airbus Group Inc. from March 2017 to September 2017. Arthur also served as a Research Assistant at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg from April 2015 to September 2016.

Arthur's earlier experience includes working as a Test Engineer & PR Responsible at HORACE from October 2012 to February 2015. In this role, they developed and executed test procedures for a newly developed vision-based horizon sensor and was also responsible for public outreach and relations.

Arthur Scharf has a strong educational background in the field of Space Science and Technologies. Arthur obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Aerospace Computer Science from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Arthur then pursued further studies in the same field and received a Master's Degree from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, where they studied from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, they also completed a Master's Degree program at Luleå University of Technology, specializing in Space Science and Technologies, in 2016. Arthur's education journey continued with a Master's Degree program at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III, also focusing on Space Science and Technologies, from 2016 to 2017.
