Leela Krishna S. has a wealth of experience in the water industry. Leela Krishna began their career in 2007 as a Senior Engineer in the Leak Detection Unit at PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency. In this role, they planned and implemented a comprehensive dynamic leak detection program for the Water Supply Pipeline Network and explored, trialed and implemented cutting-edge technologies to detect leaks. Leela Krishna also managed Non-Revenue Water (NRW) with various stakeholders and developed new methodology to ensure accurate accounting. In 2008, they were promoted to Senior Engineer, IT & Process Reengineering, where they explored and applied emerging technologies to automate processes and reviewed and redesigned work processes to improve efficiency and productivity. In 2011, they were promoted again to Executive Engineer, Water Reclamation (Network), where they led a team of Engineers and Technical officers to manage and administer consultancy and Sewer rehabilitation contracts. Leela Krishna was also involved in a catchment-wide water quality study, inflow and infiltration modeling, and field surveillance to identify and reduce sewer leaks in the Marina Reservoir Catchment. In 2018, they co-founded SpaceAge Labs, where they served as the Chief Business Officer and developed the water business vertical from scratch by establishing strategic partnerships with OEMs, SIs and Contractors. Leela Krishna successfully secured and deployed smart water projects with a range of customers from Government agencies to MNCs across different markets. In 2022, Leela Krishna S. was appointed as Research Group Chair at SWAN - The Smart Water Networks Forum and as Council Member and Co-chair for Sustainability and Digitalisation at Singapore Water Association (SWA).
Leela Krishna S. holds a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, which they obtained between 2002 and 2006. Leela Krishna then pursued a Masters in Environmental Science and Engineering from both Stanford University and Nanyang Technological University Singapore, which they completed in 2007.
