Sashikumar Y R has worked in various roles in the engineering industry since 2004. Sashikumar began their career as an Instrument Engineer at Cegelec in Abudhabi. In 2006, they joined Invensys as an Intools Engineer until 2008 when they moved to WorleyParsons/MODEC International LLC as an Instrument Engineer. In 2011, they became a Senior Technical Professional at KBR, Inc. and in 2013 they were a Senior Control Systems Engineer at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. From 2014 to 2019, they were a Senior Engineer, Instrumentation at BW Offshore and since 2019 they have been the Director, Chief Product Officer at SpaceAge Labs.

Sashikumar Y R completed their Msc in Embedded Systems from Nanyang Technological University Singapore from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a BE in Electronics and Instrumentation from Annamalai University from 1999 to 2003. Sashikumar also holds certifications in Explosive Atmosphere Application Design from CompEx\u00ae obtained in October 2018 and Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP) from CFSE Governance Board obtained in October 2010.
