David Elston

David Elston is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in cybersecurity and software engineering. Currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of a stealth cybersecurity startup since December 2024, David previously held key positions at Obsidian Security, including Director of Engineering, Principal Engineer, and Staff Software Engineer from July 2021 to December 2024. David's earlier career includes roles at the UK Civil Service from October 2012 to October 2018, where responsibilities ranged from Engineering Team Lead to Software Engineer, and a brief tenure as a Senior Software Engineer with the Australian Government in early 2018. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from The University of Sheffield, earned between September 2009 and June 2012.
