Claudio Lettieri is a Principal Turbomachinery Engineer at SpaceX since August 2018, where responsibilities include the research and development of turbopumps for full flow stage combustion rocket engines. Previously, Claudio served as a Lead Aerothermal Engineer, focusing on Starship, Super Heavy Booster, Dragon 2, and Falcon 9, along with leading aerothermal design and analysis efforts. Prior experience includes positions as a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer analyzing various spacecraft aerothermal systems, an Assistant Professor at TU Delft conducting research in multiphase flows, and a Research Engineer at MIT working on fluid dynamics and thermodynamics in turbomachinery. Claudio began professional training with an internship at the European Space Agency, holding a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London and a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli.
