Jia Yang is a design engineer at SpaceX, currently working in the liquid engine development department, where they focus on advancing the reusability of the Starship and Super Heavy Booster. Previously, Jia served as a Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor for the County of Los Angeles from 2009 to 2015, maintaining a record of zero rescues during their six years of service. Jia earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, completing the program in 2015.
