Principal Materials Engineer at SpaceX

Katie Dwyer is a seasoned Principal Materials Engineer at SpaceX, where experience spans from September 2014 to the present, with a focus on enhancing rocket cleanliness. Previously, Katie held the positions of Lead Materials Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer, demonstrating expertise in improving rocket maintenance. Prior to SpaceX, Katie served as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at Medtronic from August 2011 to September 2014, contributing to product development for catheter-based delivery systems. Additional experience includes an internship at Medtronic's Biomaterials department in summer 2010 and research work at Northwestern University focused on cardiovascular disease. Katie holds a Master’s Degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Spanish from Vanderbilt University.
