Sam Wills

Sam Wills is a Recovery Operations Engineer II at SpaceX, overseeing Falcon 9 fairing and booster recovery operations on the East Coast, with responsibilities for various systems across multiple vessels, including fairing recovery and regulatory compliance. Prior experience includes working as a Mechanical & Ordnance System Test Engineer at United Launch Alliance, successfully launching the final three Delta IV Heavy rockets. Sam has also contributed to academic support as a tutor at Clemson University, and completed internships at ABB and Bayliss Boatworks, where engineering skills were applied in diverse mechanical and design projects. Additionally, experience in sailing instruction and management has been developed through roles at Sail OBX and Nor' Banks Sailing and Watersports. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Space Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
