Wil Lafountain

Wil LaFountain is a seasoned hardware development engineer with extensive experience in the aerospace and electronics industries. Currently at SpaceX since January 2019, Wil has held multiple engineering roles focusing on silicon packaging and PCBA manufacturing. Responsibilities include BGA RF SiP substrate design, physical channel design for high-speed serdes, and process development for polymeric dispensing, significantly scaling department capabilities. Previous positions at SpaceX involved high-speed serdes design and PCB development for innovative products such as the first Starlink User Terminal. Prior to SpaceX, Wil served as President of Helix Electronics Inc and as Pad Builder at CJL ENTERPRISE LIMITED, where skills in design and construction in challenging environments were honed. Wil holds a degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
