Nick MacBean has over a decade of experience in educational roles, with a focus on supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. From April 2020 to March 2023, Nick served as SEMH Lead at REACH Alternative Education. Prior to that, Nick worked as a Learning & Development Mentor at Future Roots from January 2019 to March 2020 and held a position at REACH Youth SW LTD from June 2016 to January 2019. Nick began work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Somerset County Council from January 2012 to April 2016, where responsibilities included co-leading the Learning Support Base at Fairmead School. Nick holds a degree in Geography and Social Sciences from Kingston University, earned between 1996 and 2001.

Spaghetti Bridge is helping students to overcome their individual challenges and achieve personal and academic growth. We believe that through building trust and rebuilding confidence, every young person can reach his or her full potential. Our approach is specifically designed to provide a positive experience for students, re-engaging and reconnecting them with education in a way that will not only extend their academic, vocational and social skills and abilities, but also promote personal growth and help to build self-esteem. We recognise that for many students, the journey of education so far has been far from easy, so we take a more creative, individualised approach to learning, centred around well-being and skills for independence. From the time they arrive, we start thinking about where students will be moving to after they leave us to ensure they are well prepared to achieve their goals and succeed. Many students are particularly vulnerable and have not developed at the same social or emotional pace as their peers. These students will benefit from the nurturing and more focused curriculum we provide, helping them develop core capabilities with enhanced social and emotional support, and successfully transition into an enriched learning environment with their peers.
