Phil Hammond has extensive experience in law enforcement, currently serving as a Criminal Investigator for Spalding County since January 2017. In this role, responsibilities include collaborating with prosecuting attorneys in preparing cases for major felony crimes, serving subpoenas, relocating witnesses, conducting interviews, and obtaining written statements from victims and witnesses. Prior to this, Phil worked as an Investigator at Fayette County Marshals Office from November 1998 to December 2004, where investigations included crimes on county property and internal employee misconduct. Earlier in the career, Phil served as a D.A.R.E. Officer and Deputy Sheriff at Upson County Sheriffs Office from November 1997 to November 1998. Phil holds a Master's Degree in Theology from Grand Canyon University, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from American InterContinental University, and an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Griffin Technical College.
