Dave Sharps

Dave Sharps is a seasoned professional in hardware prototyping and product design, currently serving as a Senior Hardware Prototyping Engineer at SPAN since April 2024, and as a Freelance Maker and Designer since September 2016. Previous experience includes roles as a Product Design Engineer at Accenture from February 2019 to November 2023, and as Prototyping Lab Manager for Samara at Airbnb, where responsibilities included leading in-house prototyping efforts and managing CNC equipment. Additional experience encompasses positions at FATHOM, Next Thing Co., MakerBot®, The Crucible, Innovation Factory Chicago, and Specimen Products, showcasing a diverse skill set in 3D printing, industrial design, and hands-on fabrication. Dave Sharps holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Industrial and Product Design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
