Javier Coloma is a seasoned scientist currently serving as a Staff Scientist at the CNIO - Spanish National Cancer Research Centre since December 2017. Prior experience includes positions as a Staff Scientist at the New York Structural Biology Center from November 2016 to August 2017, and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Mount Sinai School of Medicine from November 2010 to October 2016, where research focused on structural studies of druggable targets related to DNA replication, particularly determining the structure of human DNA Polα in complex with a DNA:DNA double helix. Earlier work at CNIO from September 2004 to August 2010 as a Predoctoral Fellow involved the structural analysis of protein complexes engaged in DNA interactions, resulting in the 3D reconstruction of the human GINS complex. Javier Coloma's academic background includes a Licenciatura in Biochemistry from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and an Erasmus grant in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from the University of Leeds.
