Marcos Rubio Fernández is a skilled bioinformatician currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Gastrointestinal and Neuroendocrine Tumors Group at Fundación Instituto Investigación Hospital 12 de octubre since December 2023. In this role, Marcos conducts bioinformatic and biological analyses focusing on identifying prognostic and predictive markers for antineoplastic therapies and studying drug resistance mechanisms. Simultaneously, Marcos is a master's student at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), analyzing breast cancer datasets through the Beyondcell tool and developing scripts in R and Python. Previous experience includes research on predictive biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease and mutations in albinism patients, as well as involvement in the design of conditional mouse models for dystroglycanopathy. Marcos holds multiple degrees in biochemistry, molecular biology, and medicine, including a Master’s in Bioinformatics applied to Personalized Medicine and Health from Instituto Salud Carlos III - CNIO - BSC.

The Spanish National Cancer Research Centre is a public institution of excellence committed to research, diagnosis and treatment for cancer.
