Colin Perepelken has worked in the software engineering industry since 2016. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Software Engineer at Spare, where they are an on-call responder of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team with experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues. In 2019, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Lingel Learning | Certified Moodle Partner, where they managed and mentored Junior Developers and was involved in the hiring and interview process for multiple positions. Colin also developed themes, authentication plugins, custom reports, and learning modules using PHP, Vue.js, and JavaScript to client specifications. In 2018, they worked as a Software Developer at Latitude Geographics, where they designed and developed web-GIS applications to client specifications using C#, .NET, and TypeScript. Colin also wrote technical documentation and strict test cases to support software deployment. In the same year, they worked as an Undergraduate Academic Assistant at the Department of Creative Studies, UBC Okanagan. In 2017, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the School of Engineering, UBC Okanagan, where they extracted features for the gas sensing project to better uniquely identify VOCs and performed statistical analysis on breath-analyzer data using MATLAB. In 2016, they worked as a Manager at Kettle Valley Liquor Store, where they managed the product database and placed product orders for the store to reduce unnecessary spending and increase profits, as well as trained employees to effectively use store computer systems and interacted with liquor sales representatives to facilitate product promotions and take advantage of sales.
Colin Perepelken attended The University of British Columbia from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science.
