Rui Espinha Ribeiro

Rui Espinha Ribeiro has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. From 2018 to the present, they have been working at SPARETECH GmbH, starting as a Software Engineer and later becoming the Tech lead for the data team. In this role, they are responsible for the data acquisition, import, and modeling processes, as well as the free text search and data matching features. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2018, Rui worked as a Software Engineer at n-fuse, where they developed an IoT platform for hospitality purposes and a modern microservice stack for e-commerce. During that time, they gained experience in various technologies such as Node.js, GraphQL, Elasticsearch, ArangoDB, Redis, Apache Kafka, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, Docker, Kubernetes, and The Things Network. In 2017, Rui also worked remotely as a Software Developer for Lusopay, before joining them as a Software Developer Intern in 2016. Rui's earliest work experience was at GrETUA, where they were a Coordination Member from 2015 to 2015, and an Actor & Collaborator from 2012 to 2015.

Rui Espinha Ribeiro obtained a Mestrado Integrado degree in Engenharia de Computadores e Telemática from Universidade de Aveiro, which lasted from 2012 to 2018. In addition to their formal education, Rui also obtained certifications in Telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule from EZplus in August 2021 and completed an Introduction to Big Data course from Coursera in July 2017.
