Malek R. has extensive work experience in the field of power electronics. Malek is currently working as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer at Spark Connected since March 2020. Malek also holds the position of Co-Chair of the Light Electric Vehicle Spec Group and Co-Chair of the Enhanced Foreign Object Detection Task Force at the Wireless Power Consortium since May 2020 and June 2021, respectively.
Prior to their current roles, Malek worked as an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) and Courtesy Faculty at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 2019-2020. Malek also served as a Post-Doc Research Associate and Adjunct Faculty at Washington State University from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, Malek gained experience as a Graduate Research Assistant, Instructor, and Entrepreneurial Lead at NSF Innovation Corps Program at The University of Alabama from 2014 to 2018.
Before starting their academic career, Malek worked as a Lecturer at Abadan from 2010 to 2014.
Malek R. has an extensive education history in the field of Electrical Engineering. Malek earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama in 2014. Malek went on to complete a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution in 2016. Malek then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama in 2018.
In addition to their formal education, Malek has also acquired several certifications. In May 2018, they completed the OPAL-RT Hardware-In-The-Loop certification from OPAL-RT TECHNOLOGIES. In July 2017, Malek participated in the Innovation Corps Program conducted by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Moreover, in October 2015, they successfully completed the International Teaching Assistant Program (ITAP) at the University of Alabama's English Language Institute (ELI), earning a Pass Certificate.
