Somin Tong has a diverse range of work experience in marketing and communications roles. Starting in 2015, they worked as a Social Media Marketing Specialist at Hunan TV. In 2018, Somin joined the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) as a Digital Media Operator, where they managed social media platforms and created marketing materials. Somin was later promoted to Multimedia Developer and then Marketing Manager, responsible for coordinating the China Start program and creating video content. Somin also worked as a Marketing Manager for the joint program "Igniting Innovation for Impact," a collaboration between CKGSB and the Møller Institute of Churchill College. Somin is currently the Head of Marketing and Communications at SPARK EPOS, a position they have held since January 2023.

Somin Tong has a diverse education history in the field of film, television, communication, and media studies. In 2012, they enrolled at Nanchang University where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies, with a specialization in Advertising. Somin completed their undergraduate studies in 2016 after four years of dedicated study.

In 2016, Somin participated in a summer course at the University of Bristol, focusing on film and television. This short-term program provided their with a deeper understanding of the industry and further enhanced their knowledge and skills in the field.

Seeking to expand their expertise, Somin continued their academic journey and enrolled at the University of Westminster in 2017. Somin pursued a Master of Arts degree with a specialization in Film and Television. During their time there, they acquired a comprehensive understanding of the industry and further developed their creative and analytical skills.

In addition to their formal education, Somin has also obtained certifications in content marketing and inbound marketing. In August 2021, they achieved the Content Marketing Certified designation from HubSpot. Furthermore, in May 2021, they attained the Inbound Marketing Certified title from the same institution.
