Alexis Atwal Deshawn is an experienced behavioral therapist currently working at Spark Learning, where responsibilities include assessing the educational needs of special needs kindergarteners and preparing engaging activities. In addition to this role, Alexis serves as a Registered Behavior Technician at Intercare Therapy, Inc., focusing on applying ABA practices to enhance communication, social skills, and independent living skills for young children. Previous experience includes administrative assistance at Mobile Bot Repair, community organizing with Californians for Justice, research work at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and various internships that involved event coordination and marketing strategies. Alexis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, earned between 2015 and 2019.
Spark Learning
Since 2012, we have been using a combination of professional expertise, compassionate care, and play in a natural learning environment to help children reach key milestones and form meaningful relationships. We provide ABA therapy, an Inclusive Preschool / Kindergarten, and Speech therapy in individual and group settings. In home, at our center, or virtually, our team of experienced therapists work to develop behavior regulation, communication, social, academic, language proficiency, self-help, and play skills. We understand that each child's needs are different, which is why all therapy is individualized. We welcome children of all ages with a wide variety of special needs including autism, Asperger's, ADHD, PDD, and other developmental delays. All services are led by highly motivated, experienced therapists with degrees in Education or Special Education.
