Althea Lovell

Althea Lovell has a diverse work experience in the field of corporate relations, communications, marketing, and public relations. Their most recent role was as the Corporate Relations Lead Partner at Spark New Zealand since May 2023. Before that, they worked as a Corporate Relations Partner at the same company from August 2019 to May 2023. Prior to their role at Spark New Zealand, Althea was a Senior Account Manager at Goode PR from January 2018 to August 2019. Althea also served as the Communications and Marketing Manager - Well Foundation at Waitematā District Health Board from March 2017 to January 2018. Althea has experience in the media industry as well, having worked as a Prime Publicist at SKY TV New Zealand from August 2015 to March 2017, and as a Publicity and Promotions Manager at Warner Music New Zealand from October 2011 to August 2015. Additionally, they have worked as a Publicist at MediaWorks NZ from November 2010 to October 2011, and as a Digital Media & Licensing Co-ordinator at Warner Music New Zealand from November 2007 to November 2010. Althea started their career as a Corporate Affairs Assistant at Ports of Auckland in May 2007, where they worked until November 2007.

Althea Lovell's education history includes a variety of academic achievements. From 2017 to 2019, they attended Massey University, where they earned a Master of Communication (MC) degree with a specialization in Communication and Media Studies. Prior to that, they studied at Auckland University of Technology from 2005 to 2007, completing a Bachelor of Communication Studies (BCS) degree again focusing on Communication and Media Studies. Additionally, in 2022, Althea Lovell attended Te Wānanga o Aotearoa for a shorter period, in which they pursued a program titled "Te Ara Reo Māori: Althea Pī Ka Pao (Level 1 & 2)." This program allowed their to study the Maori language, known as Te Reo Māori.
