Opher Kornfeld

Opher Kornfeld, PhD, is currently serving as the Director of Translational Research and Development at SPARK NS, a non-profit organization focused on advancing neuroscience discoveries from research to clinical application. Previously, Opher held multiple scientific research positions at Genentech from March 2018 to June 2023, demonstrating expertise in various research roles. Opher completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical and Systems Biology at Stanford University School of Medicine, where research involved designing small peptide inhibitors to study mitochondrial function under the guidance of Professor Daria Mochly-Rosen. Opher's academic background also includes a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Oregon, complemented by experience as a Teaching Assistant and an Undergraduate Researcher.
