Pragathi Sharma has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several years. Pragathi began their career as a Software Engineer at Infosys, where they developed applications for real-time monitoring of personal and business accounts with Bank of America as clients. Pragathi then worked at Tata Consultancy Services as a Senior Java Developer, where they played a crucial role in designing and implementing the integration layer for the Avaloq Banking Solutions. Pragathi also worked as an IT Analyst and Senior Java Developer for a rural housing loan application development project for JP Morgan Chase.
In 2015, Pragathi co-founded Sparkflows, where they served as the Co-Founder and VP of Engineering. Sparkflows aims to build and deploy big data applications faster, with a focus on machine learning and random data analytics. They offer a wide range of building blocks and workflows for various applications.
Pragathi also held roles at oOh! as a Senior Data Engineer, where they worked on data engineering tasks, and at Westpac Group as a Senior Technical Specialist. Their responsibilities at Westpac included delivering projects, enhancements, and fault remediation using Java J2EE technologies. Pragathi also created efficient queries, statistical reports, and user-friendly dashboards.
Pragathi later joined Cuscal Limited as a Data Lake Support Analyst, where they implemented a structured streaming solution using Databricks and gained valuable insights into payment processing and PCI compliance.
Most recently, Pragathi worked at HIVERY as a Lead Data Engineer. Their role involved transforming data using Spark and Python on the Databricks platform. Pragathi built a data warehouse for a BI solution on Azure Synapse and Domo and managed a team of data engineers and analysts to develop data pipelines at scale. Pragathi also liaised with multiple teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure timely completion of tasks.
In 2022, Pragathi joined Sydney Water as a Senior Azure Data Engineer.
Pragathi Sharma completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. In addition, they obtained several certifications including MLflow: Managing the Machine Learning Lifecycle, Managed Delta Lake, Structured Streaming from Databricks, and an undisclosed certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in July 2019.
