Jan van der Mark

Jan van der Mark has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jan began their career as a Headwaiter/Restaurantsjef at Clarion Hotel Bergen Airport, where they were responsible for the development and operation of the restaurant and banquets. Jan trained employees, established daily routines, created shift schedules, and developed pricing models and POS system programming for beverages.

Following their time at the hotel, Jan joined Fjord Line AS as a Kassesystemansvarlig. In this role, they were responsible for programming and implementing the POS system, as well as logistics and inventory management for "Food & Beverage" and "Retail" departments. Jan also managed the digital integration between the commercial and finance departments and provided IT support for ships and affiliated ports internationally. Jan also acted as the project lead for procurement and implementation of the IT system.

Jan's next role at Fjord Line AS was as a System responsible Dynamics 365, where they had overall responsibility for Fjord Line's Dynamics 365 portfolio. Their duties included ensuring the services met high standards of quality, availability, reliability, and security. Jan also managed the lifecycle of relevant solutions and acted as the product owner in ongoing portfolio development.

Currently, Jan is working at Spar Kjøp AS as an IT-Direktor (CTO). Their responsibilities include overseeing the IT department and serving as the Chief Technology Officer. Additionally, they hold the role of Solution Architect Dynamics 365, where they work on architecting solutions within the Dynamics 365 platform.

Throughout their career, Jan has demonstrated a strong expertise in IT systems, project management, and leadership.

Jan van der Mark attended Hotel School Wageningen from 1992 to 1996, where they studied Hotel Management. In addition to their education, they obtained a certification as a participant in the Low-Code Hackathon Norway 2021, organized by Microsoft, in October 2021.
