Karen Kent-Vangorder

Karen Kent-VanGorder is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in healthcare leadership. Since June 1993, Karen has served at Sparrow Health System as Chief Medical and Quality Officer and Executive Medical Director of Physician Performance, focusing on medical staff credentialing and peer review. Additionally, Karen holds the position of Associate Director for the Family Medicine Residency Program, emphasizing Family Centered Obstetrics, Patient Centered Communication Skills, and Primary Care Psychiatric Practice. Prior to this role, Karen was a Legislative Assistant for the Michigan House of Representatives from 1987 to 1989. Karen earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Family Medicine from Michigan State University and holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Public Administration from Northern Michigan University.
