Director Of Adult Education at Sparta Area Schools

Heather Holland has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 with Sparta Area Schools. There, they worked as a GED Instructor, providing educational support to students with varying proficiency levels. Heather then became an Adult Education Instructor and Career Coach, assisting students in preparing for their GED or High School Diploma while also providing career and post-secondary education guidance. In 2016, Heather was promoted to Director of Adult Education, where they managed several adult education programs across multiple locations, consistently meeting state benchmarks and successfully securing grants. From 2015 to 2016, they also worked as an Alternative Academy Virtual Teacher at Montabella Community Schools, facilitating an alternative learning environment for high school students. Prior to that, Heather gained technical experience at Epic in 2014 as part of the Technical Services team, where they investigated and resolved software issues at healthcare facilities and provided training to analysts and end users.

Heather Holland has a diverse education history. Heather first attended Grand Rapids Community College from 2006 to 2008, obtaining an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. Heather then went on to Grand Valley State University, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mathematics and Psychology with a minor in History from 2008 to 2010.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Heather pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Grand Valley State University from 2011 to 2013. Subsequently, they obtained their Specialist in Education (EdS) degree in Central Office Administration from Central Michigan University from 2019 to 2022.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Heather has also acquired several certifications. In January 2018, they obtained the Professional Teacher Certification from the State of Michigan, specializing in Secondary Mathematics (EX), Psychology (CE), and History (CC). Furthermore, in September 2014, they received certifications in various areas such as Clarity Data Model, Resolute Professional Billing Administration/Single Billing Office, Reporting Workbench, and Benefits Engine Basics/Healthplan/AP Claims from Epic.

With their extensive educational background and certifications, Heather possesses a strong foundation in education and administration.
