Mike Langlois has a long and varied work experience. In 2021, they became a Twitch Affiliate. From 2018 to 2021, they produced and hosted a three-part series for the University at Buffalo, focusing on race and emerging technologies. From 2007 to 2018, they were a Public Speaker, giving presentations at SXSW, the University at Buffalo, Harvard Medical School, UMass Amherst, Sage College, Boston College High School, and the MA Department of Mental Health, among others. From 2007 to 2020, they were a Teaching Associate in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, providing clinical supervision of staff and trainees, offering seminar presentations, and providing consultation and presentations to the Department of Psychiatry. From 2007 to 2020, they were a Clinical Supervisor at Cambridge Health Alliance. From 2006 to 2011, they were an Adjunct Faculty at Boston College, developing and teaching Clinical Social Work and Technology, teaching graduate courses on Psychodynamic Theories of Individual Development and Diversity and Cultural Awareness, and providing consultation to faculty on integrating video games and other technology into their practice and pedagogy. From 2011 to 2020, they were an Adjunct Faculty at the University at Buffalo, planning, designing, and teaching the first online class on using emerging technologies in clinical social work, teaching graduate-level and continuing education courses on emerging technologies and their value to social work practice, and providing consultation to faculty on integrating video games and other technology into their practice and pedagogy. From 1999 to 2018, they were a Co-Founder and Consultant at Sparta Social Networks, co-founding and growing the producer of enterprise social media applications and advising clients on applying principles of game design to social networks. Finally, from 1996 to 2018, they were a Psychotherapist in Private Practice, providing individual and family psychotherapy, consulting with schools and community agencies, and consulting with private and public sector industry on integrating emerging technologies, principles of game design and social media into learning and healthcare environments. In 2020, they became a Visiting Scholar at Simmons University, Center for Innovation in Behavioral Health Education & Research.

Mike Langlois attended Smith College from 1991 to 1994, where they earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) in Clinical Social Work. Prior to that, they attended Connecticut College from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English, Philosophy, and Creative Writing.
