Rachel Williams

Rachel Williams has a diverse and extensive work experience in the commodities and oil industry. Rachel currently holds the position of Chief Commodities Officer at Sparta Commodities since March 2023. Previously, they worked at Wood Mackenzie, where they held various roles including VP - Global Head of Oil & Gas Short-term Research, VP -Head of Centre of Excellence, Head of Short Term Analytics, and Head of Commodity Analytics - EMEARC. Rachel also worked at Citi as a VP - Oil Commodities and at Merrill Lynch as a VP - Oil Products. Rachel began their career as a Senior Refining Industry Analyst at Wood Mackenzie and as Europe Clean Products Optimisation Lead at ConocoPhillips. Rachel started their professional journey as a Chemical Engineer at ChevronTexaco. Throughout their career, they have been responsible for overseeing commercial activities, driving product improvements, and leading research and analytics teams. Rachel also has experience in M&A and has contributed to buy-side strategies. Rachel has demonstrated leadership skills and a focus on career management and talent development.

Rachel Williams received their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bath. Rachel attended the university from 1999 to 2003.
