Kevin J. has a diverse work experience in the field of RF and microwave engineering. Kevin started their career at Apple in 2017, where they worked as an RF Systems Engineer and contributed to projects such as iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X, and AirPower wireless charging mat. At Apple, they focused on RF regulatory compliance and electromagnetic compatibility, designing experiments and conducting tests.
In 2016, Kevin joined Tubis Technology, an early-stage startup that was later acquired by Kyocera International, Inc. Kevin worked as an RF/Microwave Engineer and gained hands-on experience in hardware design for mmWave phased-array chips and systems used in 5G consumer electronics and telecom equipment. Kevin'sresponsibilities included board-level schematic and layout design, simulation, testing, and debugging.
At Kyocera International, Inc. - Semiconductor Components Group, Kevin held the position of Senior RF/Microwave Engineer from 2020 to 2021. Kevin specialized in designing RF PCBs and LTCC, HTCC, and Organic interposers, as well as antenna-in-packages (AiP) operating in the 5G NR FR2 n257 band (26.5GHz-29.5GHz).
Kevin'smost recent role is at Spartan Radar, a Series A startup working on Automotive Radar. As a Senior System Engineer, Kevin is involved in the hardware systems and board-level design of 77GHz Automotive MIMO Radars.
Kevin J. holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, which they obtained in 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering at the same university in 2016. In addition to their degrees, Kevin J. has obtained a certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists in August 2020.
