David Kalk has extensive experience in educational technology, currently serving as the District Instructional Technology Coach for Spartanburg District Five since July 2004, where collaboration with the District Curriculum & Instruction team focuses on technology integration and authentic learning experiences. Previous roles include District Technology Trainer and Career & Technology Education Teacher, teaching various subjects related to technology and overseeing the establishment of a new technology lab. In addition, David Kalk is the owner and photographer of David Kalk Photography, specializing in wedding, portrait, and commercial photography, as well as freelance sports photography. David Kalk holds a Master's degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology Education from Clemson University.

District Five Schools of Spartanburg County is home to twelve highly successful, award-winning schools. Located in the center of a vibrant, rapidly growing international business community, we serve more than 8,000 students with a staff of nearly 1,100 employees. Covering approximately 113 square miles, the district includes the cities/municipalities of: Duncan, Lyman, Reidville, Moore, Startex, Wellford, and Greer. Due to manufacturing and industrial growth in all of these areas, District Five Schools have seen a steady enrollment increase over the last 20 years.
