Rick Jolley has a diverse range of work experience spanning several companies and industries. Rick began their career in 1984 at Ticona as a Technical Manager, where they worked for 26 years until 2010. Jolley then moved on to Spartanburg Methodist College as the Director of Facilities Management from 2009 to 2013. Rick furthered their career at Converse College, where they served as the Senior Director of Facility Services and Planning from 2014 to 2017. Since 2017, Jolley has been with Spartanburg Water, initially as the Reclaimed Water Treatment Superintendent, then moving up to Wastewater Treatment Manager, Director of Wastewater Treatment Services, and Deputy Chief Operating Officer. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Plant and Field Operations.

Rick Jolley obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina from 1989 to 1991. Prior to that, they also earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Marine Science/Geology from the same university from 1979 to 1983. Rick has also obtained several additional certifications including a Biological Wastewater Operator A License from the State of South Carolina in October 2019, an Accredited Commercial Energy Manager certification from the SC Energy Office in May 2013, and a Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) certification from Celanese in October 2001.
