Ryan Schmierer

Ryan Schmierer has 15 years of work experience in the areas of Digital Transformation, IT Strategy, Service Management and Operations. Ryan began their career in 1999 as a Business Architect for Cisco Systems. In 2013, they became a Business & Enterprise Architect for Microsoft IT, where they were responsible for supporting the CIO and IT leadership team in translating strategy and vision into operational and technical changes. During this time, they also represented Microsoft to The Open Group IT4IT and Architecture forums from 2014 to 2017. In 2017, they became the VP of Operations for Sparx Services North America and a Senior Staff Writer for IT Chronicles Media. Ryan is also the Principal Consultant & Architect for RS Consulting NW, a Management Consulting firm based in the Seattle, WA area.

Ryan Schmierer obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration - Management Information Systems from California State University, Chico in 2000. Ryan then went on to earn an MBA in Business from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2010. In 2017, they received the IT4IT Foundation certification from The Open Group. Ryan is also in the process of obtaining the CBAP and PMP certifications from IIBA and the Project Management Institute, respectively.
