Jeanette Abrahamsen has an extensive work experience spanning from 2007 to 2022. In 2007, they worked as a Production Assistant at WEDU, where they assisted in the production of live and pre-taped TV shows and commercial production as a videographer, lighting/set designer, and grip. Jeanette also assisted in the production of "Meet the Press" and "Washington Week". In 2009, they worked as a Videographer at the Museum of Science and Industry, where they documented and analyzed how children interact with museum exhibits to strategize ways to enhance learning in engaging environments. Jeanette also researched how multimedia impacts early childhood development. In the same year, they worked as a Producer at KGTV Channel 10, where they won an Emmy Award for their work as an assignment editor. Jeanette also line produced live morning and midday newscasts, and published AP-style web stories and photos on 10news. From 2012 to 2013, they worked at The San Diego Union Tribune, first as an Assistant News Director, where they managed a team of executive producers, content creators, engineers, producers, and social media managers, and trained 125 print and digital journalists on broadcast and social platforms. Jeanette also analyzed qualitative data from focus groups to improve content creation and distribution. Jeanette also worked as an Executive Producer, where they launched a TV station from the ground up as U-T TV's first executive producer, led the build of a state-of-the-art digital TV facility and live streaming platform, and hired a team of 65 that included managers, talent, producing staff, and production crew. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at WFLA-TV News Channel 8 / WTTA-TV Great 38, where they developed, launched, and oversaw five new newscasts on traditional and virtual sets in America's 11th largest TV market for Tampa's NBC station. Jeanette also trained producers to write conversational and impactful news scripts, and to strategically craft TV shows to increase Nielsen ratings. From 2019 to 2021, they worked at Hashtag Our Stories as a Mobile Journalist, where they reported and produced constructive mobile journalism stories that got millions of views on Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Jeanette also taught people how to use cell phones to create selfie journalism stories, and created strategies to increase engagement across social media platforms. From 2015 to 2022, they worked at the University of South Florida, first as an Instructor, where they received the 2020-2021 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award, taught 38 classes about TV production, digital media, storytelling, videography, video editing, writing, social media, and web design totaling 1,237 hours of live in-person training and 550 hours of live online training. Jeanette also served on several hiring committees for the Zimmerman School and Provost Office. Jeanette also worked as a Visiting Instructor, where they won first place TBABJ Griot Drum Radio Feature Award in 2018 for a two-part Florida Matters program that their Advanced Reporting class helped create with NPR affiliate WUSF-FM and wusf.org called "Telling Tampa Bay Stories Progress Village". Jeanette also worked as a Virtual Tour Producer, where they produced 360-degree photo shoots and videos to showcase USF colleges on VR campus tours, edited VR photos and videos with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro for YouVisit virtual tour platform, and strategized with stakeholders and subject matter experts in person and remotely to craft messaging and visuals. Finally, they worked as an Adjunct Professor, where they chaired the Digital Network Committee that launched a campus-wide content creation collaboration at WUSF-TV studios, developed new curriculum that prepares students to succeed in evolving mass communication fields, and designed

Jeanette Abrahamsen has a diverse education history. Jeanette is currently pursuing a PhD in Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida, which they began in 2020 and is expected to complete in 2023. In 2014-2015, they earned a Master's Degree in Digital Journalism & Design from the same university. Jeanette also earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Broadcast News & Telecommunication Production from the University of South Florida in 2005-2010. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications from LinkedIn and the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY, including Articulate 360: Interactive Learning, Articulate Storyline Essential Training, Social and Behavioral Responsible Conduct of Research, and Social/Behavioral Investigators and Key Personnel.
