Carrie Hillis is a seasoned Surface & Textile Designer with significant experience in graphic design, illustration, and art education. Currently leading design efforts at Carrie Hillis Design since January 2018, Carrie specializes in creating sophisticated repeat patterns for home decor and fashion textiles while applying advanced color theory. As a freelance Textile Designer & Illustrator for JOANN Stores, Carrie develops trend-forward patterns and original artwork. In addition, Carrie has contributed as a Graphic Designer & Illustrator for Special D Events and the Center for Automotive Diversity, Inclusion and Advancement, focusing on visual experiences and marketing collateral. With a background in education, Carrie has taught visual art at various institutions, fostering creativity and critical thinking among students. Carrie holds a Master of Arts in Art Teaching from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA in Studio Art/Graphic Design from Michigan State University.
