Maricela Shukie

Maricela Shukie (Oceguera) holds extensive experience in sports management and academic performance leadership. Currently serving as the Urban Schools Manager for Special Olympics Colorado since March 2022, Maricela is also a Co-Founder of Forward Progress Athletics Consulting since June 2013. Additional roles include being a National Training Team Member for The Center for Healing and Justice through Sport and a former National Training Team member with Up2Us Sports. Maricela has academic experience as an Adjunct Professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver and has held various positions with organizations like NCAA, America SCORES, and the U.S. Soccer Federation. Educational qualifications include a Human Resource Management Certificate from Cornell University ILR School, a Master’s in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Bachelor’s in Honor's History from UC San Diego, complemented by various training in administrative advancement.
