Kira Northrop has a diverse range of work experience across multiple industries. In 2016, they began their career with Special Olympics Maryland, starting as an intern in broadcasting and new media before transitioning to roles in the development team and later becoming the Director of Communications. In 2018, they became the Director of Media, and in July 2021, they were promoted to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications. Alongside their work with Special Olympics Maryland, Kira has also worked as a child caregiver in various homes since 2006 and as a banquet captain, waitress, and pool staff at Old South Country Club from 2012 to 2016.
