Following this role, Julia Eory joined Special Olympics Michigan in January 2020 and has taken on the positions of Field Service Coordinator for the Southeastern region and South East Program Specialist, contributing to the organization's mission and community outreach efforts.

The mission of Special Olympics Michigan is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the state of Michigan. Athletes are given continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness and athletic skill, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
