Jeff Ruthenberg

Vice President Of Sports Programs at Special Olympics Northern California

Jeff Ruthenberg started their work experience in 2000 as a Fitness Instructor at Wenmat Fitness, Inc. Jeff provided one-on-one consultations and led group education sessions on exercise and equipment use.

In 2002, Jeff became a Head Trainer at Wenmat Fitness, Inc., where they assisted in managing fitness staff, trained new instructors, and led education presentations on fitness and equipment to groups and individuals.

From 2003 to 2005, Jeff served as the Fitness Director at Wenmat Fitness, Inc. Jeff managed fitness staff at multiple locations, oversaw incentive programs, and managed the summer swim program.

In 2005, Jeff joined Special Olympics Northern California as a Regional Sports Director. Jeff managed staff and volunteer coaches across multiple regions, created and implemented budgets, and managed competitions and events. Jeff held this position until 2009.

In 2010, Jeff was promoted to Vice President of Regional Sports at Special Olympics Northern California. In this role, they managed staff and supervised other managers across all regions, managed multiple sports teams and competitions, and created and managed balanced budgets.

In 2014, Jeff became the Vice President of Sports Programs at Special Olympics Northern California. Jeff oversaw all aspects of the sports program for Northern California, including direct supervision of staff members and managers across 32 counties. Jeff was responsible for developing and overseeing rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as the coaches education system. Jeff also directed the annual Summer Games Championship event with over 1,050 participants and 1,800 volunteers.
